Mecum Auctions will hold their fifth annual Tulsa sale June 6-7 with around 600 vehicles expected to cross the auction block. A large number of lots will be offered with no reserve including charity offerings from the Tulsa Community Foundation Collection. Additionally, the Schroeder Family Collection – an assortment of more than 60 cars – will be offered with no reserve coinciding with their 25th year consigning vehicles with Mecum Auctions.

This 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible, Shelby No. 04416, stands out as a sought-after high-performance vehicle. Its engine is a powerful 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8 delivering 335 horsepower and includes a Ram Air induction system, coupled with a sturdy C6 3-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers its impressive power through a 3.89:1 Traction-Lok differential, supported by robust suspension and potent front disc brakes for enhanced handling and braking.

The car’s appearance features a striking Acapulco Blue paint job, highlighted by iconic White GT500KR stripes and a clean white convertible top. It sports a bold look with a fiberglass hood featuring air scoops, prominent Shelby badges, and unique sequential tail lights. Inside, the cabin offers plush black bucket seats, a steering wheel bordered in wood, and a full set of gauges for an engaging driving experience. The wheels are classic Shelby 10-spoke designs fitted with Goodyear tires, while chrome bumpers and bright trim accentuate its distinctive style.

This is one of just 318 convertible examples of the GT500KR built for the 1968 model year and is being offered with no reserve. Proceeds from the sale will go towards the Tulsa Community Foundation.

This 1969 Ford LTD Hardtop offers a unique chance, having been part of the esteemed Harrah’s Automobile Collection and recording only 93 original miles. It remains largely untouched in its original state, with only essential items like the battery, oil filter, tires, hoses, belts, and exhaust being replaced over time. This meticulously documented car was originally commissioned by Bill Harrah through Pozzi Motor Sales in Carson City, Nevada. It includes its initial build sheet, invoice, framed sales receipt, and a certificate of authenticity from Harrah’s, alongside a copy of its 1984 title issued to Harrah’s.

The vehicle is equipped with its original 351 CI V-8 engine and Selectshift automatic transmission for smooth driving. Power brakes with front discs and power steering enhance the ride. Its exterior features a white finish with blue interior trim and a vinyl top, while period-appropriate extras include an electric clock delete, tinted glass, a pushbutton AM radio, and dual rear seat speakers, all contributing to its genuine vintage allure as an exceptionally preserved piece of automotive history.

This is being offered from the Joplin Collection with no reserve.

Estimate: $15,000 – $20,000

This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Twister Special Fastback stands out as an exceptionally exclusive and powerful muscle car. Among its kind, only 48 units were ever crafted with this particular engine setup. Its core is powered by its matching-numbers 428 cubic inch Super Cobra Jet V8 engine, seamlessly integrated with a sturdy C6 automatic transmission. This unique Mustang also features a Drag Pack and Competition suspension, underscoring its factory-tuned capabilities for high performance.

Visually striking, the vehicle sports a vivid Grabber Orange exterior adorned with bold black stripes and a functional Ram Air hood. Inside, it presents a Deluxe Black interior trim that provides a stark contrast to the vibrant outside, delivering a sense of luxury. Enhancing both its performance and comfort are elements like a Traction-Lok differential, nodular case 31-spline axles, chrome bumpers and bright trim, a convenient center console, an AM radio, a Deluxe Rim Blow steering wheel, and factory-tinted glass.

This Mach 1 is being offered with no reserve and the proceeds will benefit the Tulsa Community Foundation.

This 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible stands out as an excellent example of an iconic American classic. Its vintage pony car charm is driven by a 260 cubic inch V8 engine, paired with a seamless automatic transmission for an ideal cruising experience. What distinguishes this particular Mustang is its thorough rotisserie restoration, ensuring it has been carefully restored to a high level in terms of both appearance and mechanical function.

It was built during the first year of Mustang production and should be considered a 1964.5 for the history buffs among us. It’s being offered with no reserve and the proceeds will benefit the Tulsa Community Foundation.
