Gooding Monterey 2025
Gooding Christie’s recently announced a grouping of significant classic and collector cars that will be offered at their 2025 Monterey auction, which will continue to serve as the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Plenty of options for the Porsche enthusiasts will be available including the first RUF CTR Anniversary to be offered for sale at a public auction. Of course, as we’re talking Monterey Car Week 2025 the auction wouldn’t be complete without some low mileage modern collectible and classic cars.
The 2006 Ford GT is a tribute to its iconic predecessor, the GT40. To mark Ford’s 100th anniversary and recapture its past glory at Le Mans in the 1960s, the company created this new model. Drawing inspiration from the original design, the GT boasts a supercharged 5.4L V8 engine that puts out 550 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and an aluminum spaceframe chassis. This powerful combination enables the car to go from 0 to 60 mph in just over 3 seconds and reach speeds of up to 205 mph. By blending vintage aesthetics with state-of-the-art performance, the Ford GT has become a highly regarded American supercar.
A special variant, known as the Heritage Edition, was designed to honor the brand’s racing legacy. This edition pays homage to the legendary Gulf-liveried GT40 that won at Le Mans in 1968 and 1969, featuring a distinctive light blue and orange color scheme, unique badges, and interior accents – all while retaining the same mechanical specifications as the standard 2006 Ford GT. With only 343 units produced, the Heritage Edition successfully merges modern technology with nostalgic flair, making it a highly coveted version of the first-generation Ford GT.
Gooding will offer a particularly notable 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition for sale at their 2025 Monterey auction, one that is essentially still in as-delivered condition. It shows less than 4 miles on its odometer and is the 122nd example out of the 343 produced. The low mileage explains the high estimate from Gooding, but it does beg the question – is it really a car or more of a sculpture that will be offered for sale by Gooding in August?
Estimate: $750,000 – $900,000
The Bugatti EB110 Super Sport, unveiled in 1992, represented a significant leap forward from the exceptional EB110 GT, signaling Bugatti’s bold re-entry into the supercar market under Italian stewardship. Conceived to test the boundaries of velocity and technological advancement, this model boasted a quad-turbocharged 3.5L V12 powerplant delivering 603 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and sophisticated all-wheel drive system.
By leveraging carbon fiber and other lightweight materials extensively, the Super Sport variant achieved a weight reduction of nearly 300 pounds compared to the GT model, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3 seconds, with a maximum speed surpassing 220 mph. Given its extremely limited production run of just 30 units, the EB110 SS has become a highly sought-after and respected emblem of the innovative spirit and engineering prowess that defined the supercars of the 1990s.
The 1994 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport that Gooding will offer for sale at their 2025 Monterey auction in August shows just over 1,000 km since new and represents an opportunity to own an extremely rare example of peak 90s supercar performance.
Estimate: $3,000,000 – $3,500,000
The Ferrari F40, introduced in 1987 to mark a significant milestone in the company’s history, is widely regarded as an extraordinary and uncompromising supercar. As the last model to receive Enzo Ferrari’s personal stamp of approval, it reflects an unwavering commitment to delivering unbridled performance. Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 2.9L V8 engine generating 478 horsepower, the F40 achieved speeds exceeding 200 mph, earning its place as the quickest production vehicle of its era. Characterized by its lightweight body composed of carbon fiber and Kevlar, sparse interior amenities, and assertive design language, the F40 embodies the essence of a road-going racing machine – one that prioritizes unadulterated driving exhilaration and mechanical simplicity above all else.
The 1990 Ferrari F40 that will be offered by Gooding at their 2025 Monterey auction includes its Ferrari Classiche “Red Book” and recently received a Platinum Award from the Ferrari Club of America. It’s the 53rd example of the 213 US-spec F40s produced and shows fewer than 1,300 miles since new.
Estimate: $3,500,000 – $4,000,000
