2023 Pebble Beach Call for Entries

72nd Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance put a call for applications to participate in the 2023 concours. The 72nd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will showcase designs from Joseph Figoni alongside the Mercedes-Benz S Series, as well as race cars from the Vanderbilt Cup era.

Joseph Figoni established himself as a coach builder in the early 1920s and became well known with the unveiling of his Delahaye Roadster at the 1936 Paris Auto Salon. He pioneered the Teardrop Coupe that made its debut in 1937 at the New York Auto Show on a Talbot-Lago T150C-SS chassis.

Launched following the merger of Daimler and Benz, the Mercedes-Benz S Series debuted in 1927 and was built through 1933. Those years included the S, SS, and SSK models. In its 71 years, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has seen Best in Show awarded to five different cars from the Mercedes-Benz S Series.

Scheduled for August 20, 2023, Pebble Beach will also celebrate McLaren, Porsche, and Lamborghini – to name a few – in addition to Post-war Luxury Cars and American “Dream Cars” of the 1950s. This coming concours will celebrate 75 years of Porsche with a display of unique and historically significant models produced from 1948 to 1973, including iconic prototype race cars.

A separate display will honor 60 years of McLaren, paying tribute to Bruce McLaren’s successes in sports car racing, Le Mans, and the Indy 500. This will be the first time McLaren have its own dedicated display at Pebble, which will include early race cars from McLaren all the way to their most recent Formula 1 championship winning cars, in addition to significant road cars.

Requests for submissions have already gone out to past participants, but the concours is welcoming applications from anyone who owns a car that would fit with their theme for next year. More information about submitting a car can be found at this link.
