New Hybrid Countach Hits the Roads

Remember when Lamborghini unveiled the new Countach? The hybrid Countach that does 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds? And has a top speed around 220 mph? Well, that new Countach has hit the streets.

Lamborghini is almost mean to release these pictures because they’re only building 112 of these beasts. The internal project name was LP 112, so take a guess as to why there will only be 112 examples of the new hybrid Countach.

Even if they suddenly decided to build another few, which they won’t, it wouldn’t matter to most of us as each one of the LPI 800-4 has already been sold. They were sold before the car was shown to the public!

But we can still appreciate the beauty of a combined 814 hp – courtesy of the 6.5 L V12 and the electric motor that is mounted directly on the gearbox, powered by a supercapacitor that has three times the power density of an equivalent weight lithium-ion battery.

Deliveries of the Countach LPI 800-4 will begin in the first quarter of 2022 and barring any contractual restrictions put in place by Lamborghini, we’re really hoping to see one on an auction block in the next year or two.
