Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Price is Through the Roof!
Mercedes-Benz shocked the entire collector car world this past week. Well, kind of… They held a very surprising and exclusive auction for one of the most desirable race cars ever produced – the 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR. Honestly, no one expected this car to ever leave the Mercedes-Benz collection, which is really why no one thought about it when considering the most expensive collector car in the world – that honor has generally been given to the Ferrari 250 GTO. But no more!
While there’s been no official word from Mercedes-Benz about this sale, rumors are what drive the collector car world and rumor has it that an extremely exclusive sale was held – likely accompanied by plenty of drinking – and now there’s a new owner of the famed 1955 Silver Arrow. And all it took was $142,000,000!
That’s nothing, right? I mean, who doesn’t have that kind of cash laying around? Seriously, that is an impressive amount of money to spend on a car and if you can, then by all means do so, but the rest of us will have to spend our days imagining what it must be like to own the world’s most expensive car.
