2026 Bonhams Greenwich Auction: Diablo, Porsches, and a 600 Pullman Headline
The Bonhams|Cars Greenwich Auction returns to 475 Steamboat Road, Greenwich, CT on Sunday, May 31, 2026 – and it may be the most compelling single-day collector car sale in the Northeast this spring. As Bonhams|Cars’ only Northeast auction of the year, the Greenwich sale offers serious buyers a focused, intimate alternative to larger multi-day events.
Preview day is Saturday, May 30, running concurrently with the 30th Anniversary Greenwich Concours d’Elegance – giving bidders a full weekend of world-class cars before the gavel drops Sunday.
The 30th Anniversary Greenwich Concours d'Elegance
The Greenwich Concours d’Elegance is the longest-running automotive concours in the Northeast. Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, the event spans three days – Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 – at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park along Greenwich Harbor.
Saturday’s Concours de Sport covers 17 judged performance classes including Shelby GT350s, Cars of Goodwood, and Japanese Z Cars. Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance features 17 automotive history classes, with Porsche Original Owners, Post-War English Sports, and Sports Car Evolution (1920s-50s) among the highlights.
Grand Marshal Paul Russell – founder of Paul Russell and Company and restorer of 52 Best of Show winners including four at Pebble Beach – brings extraordinary credibility to the 30th edition. Anniversary display vehicles include a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, a 1991 Ferrari F40, and a 1937 Cord 812 originally owned by Amelia Earhart.
The headline lot is a 1991 Lamborghini Diablo finished in rare factory Midnight Blue Metallic over tan leather, estimated at $300,000-$350,000. This color combination is among the rarest applied to a first-generation Diablo, setting it well apart from the Rosso Diablo examples that dominate the auction market.
The car carries fully documented North American provenance across Quebec, Alberta, Ontario, and Florida and is accompanied by a service file covering its complete maintenance history. With demand for 1990s Italian supercars strengthening and rare-color early Diablos growing scarce, this is a well-timed offering.
Three Exceptional Porsche 356s: The Stuttgart Sweep
Porsche is the dominant marque at the 2026 Greenwich Concours auction, with three 356 variants collectively estimated near $1.25 million.
The highest-estimated lot in the sale is the 1957 Porsche 356A Carrera GT (chassis 101385), offered at no reserve. Delivered new to Cuba through Intercaribbean, the car was raced in local Cuban competition in 1958 before being exported to the U.S. through Jacksonville, Florida in 1959.
After decades out of the public eye, the current owner undertook a 15-plus-year restoration consulting factory records and former Porsche factory personnel. The car includes a Type 547/3 four-cam engine from a 1960 Porsche RS-60 Werks Prototype Spyder, with 5.5-inch wheels, 904-style instrumentation, and a 741 competition-type transaxle, though it is currently equipped with a 1,582cc Porsche pushrod engine until the next owner completes restoration, assembly, and installation of the four-cam engine. Few Porsches entering the Bonhams Greenwich auction in recent years can match this car’s racing history and restoration depth.
The 1957 Porsche 356A T1 Speedster (chassis 83066) was delivered through Hoffman Motors of New York on March 12, 1957 – one of the most resonant provenance stories in American Porsche collecting. A 1975 letter from Jürgen Barth confirms the original color scheme, and Northwestern University parking decals from 1966-67 remain on the original windscreen.
Refurbished 2016-2023 with a bare-metal strip revealing the original factory red, the engine was enlarged to 1720cc with Wilhoit heads, JE pistons, and an LN Engineering camshaft. Offered at no reserve with full documentation.
Delivered new through AFN Ltd in England, this 1961 Porsche 356B Super 90 Cabriolet presents in original Signal Red over black leather with a matching-numbers Super 90 engine and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity – one of the cleanest 356 Cabriolet offerings at a Northeast auction this season.
Mercedes-Benz: Two Pinnacle German Automobiles
Originally delivered in Dunkelblau (Dark Blue), this 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet was comprehensively restored in Black with Cognac leather. The W111 Cabriolet remains one of the most sought-after postwar convertibles, and well-documented examples consistently attract serious international bidder interest.
The most intriguing consignment may be the 1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Limousine – offered at no reserve with single ownership since 1978 and fewer than 98,000 kilometers. This W100 is lavishly optioned with air conditioning, a privacy partition, rear bar and cocktail cabinet, velour rear cabin, sunroof, and Becker radio. A no-reserve Pullman of this provenance is a rare event at any collector car auction.
Additional Highlights

- 1992 Maserati Shamal – Imported from Japan in 2018; just 74,013 km; fewer than 370 built total – one of the rarest entries in the 2026 Bonhams Greenwich auction.
Why This Is One of Spring's Best Buying Opportunities
The Bonhams|Cars Greenwich Auction is consistently one of the most no-reserve-friendly collector car sales in the Northeast. Bonhams achieved a 100% sell-through rate at Greenwich in 2018 and opened 2026 with a 90% sell-through rate and $11 million in total sales at Scottsdale – strong momentum heading into the spring season.
Bidding is available in-room, online, by absentee, and by telephone, making it easy to participate from anywhere.
