ModaMiami Concours History and Future
In just three years, ModaMiami has become one of the most talked-about collector car events in the country. Set against the backdrop of Coral Gables’ iconic Biltmore Hotel, this modern Miami concours d’elegance blends automotive culture with luxury hospitality, live entertainment, and the prestige of RM Sotheby’s auction house.
Now the ModaMiami 2027 edition is officially confirmed – and it promises to be the biggest yet.
What Is ModaMiami?
ModaMiami is an annual collector car show and concours d’elegance held in Coral Gables, Florida, as the centerpiece of Miami Car Week. The event features over 400 rare and iconic automobiles organized into curated “collections” that span every era, from brass-age pioneers to modern hypercars.
Unlike traditional concours events, ModaMiami uses peer-based judging and collection-themed categories rather than strict point scoring. It’s a format that appeals equally to serious collectors and casual enthusiasts.
The Inaugural ModaMiami: 2024
The first ModaMiami concours debuted in March 2024 at the Biltmore Hotel and immediately set a high bar.
The showfield featured over 400 collector cars, highlighted by a breathtaking Winner’s Circle Collection – eight former Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Best of Show winners gathered under one roof. It was a feat rarely accomplished at any single event.
Miami-Dade Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera marked the occasion with a proclamation declaring March 3 “ModaMiami Day.” The event drew over 8,000 attendees in its inaugural year.
- People’s Choice Award: 1998 McLaren F1 “LM-Specification”
- Participant’s Award: 1935 Duesenberg Model SJ “Mormon Meteor” (Harry Yeaggy Collection, Ohio)
ModaMiami 2025: A Global Must-Attend Event
The second edition, held on March 1-2, 2025, drew more than 10,000 attendees – proof that the Miami car show was rapidly finding its global audience.
The 2025 concours expanded its collection categories, with class honors distributed across a wide range of eras and styles. Standout winners included:
- American Classics Best of Collection: 1932 Duesenberg Model J Stationary Victoria
- Sport-Leicht Collection: 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing
- Ferrari: Passion and Performance: 1993 Ferrari F40 LM (The Rey Collection)
- Fast, Faster, Fastest Collection: 2020 Bugatti Divo
- People’s Choice Award: 1979 Aston Martin Bulldog (Philip Sarofim, Beverly Hills)
The RM Sotheby’s auction component continued to complement the showfield with a curated selection of blue-chip collector cars.
ModaMiami 2026: Third-Year Stride
The third annual ModaMiami ran from February 27 through March 1, 2026, and delivered the most ambitious program to date.
Guests traveled from 38 U.S. states and 28 countries, with more than 500 vehicles on the showfield. The event was broadly recognized as the moment ModaMiami firmly established itself among the world’s premier collector car shows.
Three Best of Show awards were presented:
- Best of Show – Post-War: 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spider (Jaeger Family Collection, Cincinnati)
- Best of Show – Modern: 1995 McLaren F1 (Revs Institute, Naples, Florida)
- Best of Show – Classic: 1934 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Lungo Spider (Joe Novogratz, Chanhassen, Minnesota)
The concurrent RM Sotheby’s Miami auction generated approximately $74 million in total sales, led by a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider that achieved $7,045,000.
Special highlights included a Lamborghini Miura at 60 Years celebration, a Concours de Nuit under the stars, and themed collections ranging from Supercar Skittles to RETROmods to British Luxury.
