Porsche 911 Targa World Record Price
RM Sotheby’s set a new record for a Porsche 911 Targa this month. The 1972 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa that was built by Porsche Classic, a unique, one-of-one car that was sold alongside a similarly unique watch proved to be very attractive to Porsche collectors and enthusiasts.
The final price ended up being $1,149,000 and the auction was held on RM Sotheby’s online bidding platform. And let’s be honest – that is a huge amount of money for a Targa, whatever year it may have been built. But the fact that no one else can say they have the same car must have been a selling point to at least a few bidders.
Of course, that same amount of money could buy quite a few Porsches if one was interested in variety, but the market has spoken and this 1972 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa is worth $1,149,000. Well done by RM Sotheby’s! We can’t wait to see what they have in store for Scottsdale!
